Guild Declares Sovereignty

Neelgaimon, Xappyh (GNN) - Today, Year 10 Day 263 at 18:00 hours Galactic Standard Time the Bounty Hunters Guild declared its sovereignty before the galaxy. With it operational and executive headquarters centered in New Haven on Cirbodyn, and Legislative headquarters in Kharak on Neelgaimon the people of the Xappyh Sector finally have a voice unto themselves... We go now live to the Orbit of Neelgaimon, where aboard the L-500 Space Line 'Sentroline Voyage' Protector Arjuna Ketwol is delivering his inaugural address."

ARJUNA: "Today we stand upon the brink of a new era. Today... *Arjuna pauses to look at the camera reflecting to himself, as a tear of joy begins to run down the side of his face* ...Today we of Neelgaimon shall rise from the chaos that is the outer-rim; and become a sovereign nation, more we are a sovereign people!

Gone shall be the days of rule by unjust outsiders. Gone are the days of being exploited by Intergalactic Mining Companies, by slavers, and pirates, and malcontents. Today freedom and liberty shall be upon us all.

So often the core-worlders look to the stars beyond their precious shield generators and think to themselves, who, now who shall we abuse today? I tell you this my fellow Neelgaimonites, Xappyhians, and Rim-Worlders, today is the first blow in our fight back. Today we seize for our farms, our own mines, our own cities, our own worlds for ourselves.

Before I came on stage tonight, one of the reporters here caught me by the elbow and asked me a question. He asked me what the Bounty Hunters Guild was. And you know I looked at him for a bit, the question had caught me off-guard; you see I had felt it quite obvious who we are, nobody looks at the Galactic Empire or the Hapes Consortium and asks them what they are... *a few of the reporters in the audience chuckle softly* ...I said you know Jim? We're a government, plain and simple.

Preliminary media reports may have classified us as a mining organization because we are too small to be any sort of major player in the galaxy. Which to be perfectly honest, is true to the core-worlders what happens out here is of no consequence. Nevertheless, we are a Planetary Government, we shall act as one, shall enact our own laws, protect our own citizens, and do everything that should be done by a government of the people, for its people.
